Upgrade Windows 10 Now Windows 11 upgrade

Updated October 26, 2026: Microsoft ended standard support for most Windows 10 PCs on October 14, 2025. If your business is still operating Windows 10 computers, now is the time to verify their security status and plan a supported replacement or upgrade. Windows 10 computers do not suddenly stop working, but unsupported systems receive no routine security updates unless they qualify for and are enrolled in an Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.

What Windows 10 End of Support Means for Businesses

Without updates, newly discovered vulnerabilities may remain unpatched. This creates avoidable risks for company files, email, customer information, and systems used by medical offices, construction companies, and other businesses across Palm Beach, Broward, and Martin counties.

  • Security: Standard Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions reached their general end-of-support date in October 2025. Some specialized LTSC editions have different support lifecycles.
  • Compliance: Unsupported equipment may complicate security and regulatory obligations; assess actual requirements with the appropriate compliance professional.
  • Compatibility: Software and vendors may progressively stop supporting older operating systems.

What About Windows 10 Extended Security Updates?

Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program can provide qualifying Windows 10 computers with important security fixes for a limited period. ESU is a temporary risk-reduction measure—not a replacement for moving to supported hardware and Windows 11. Eligibility, pricing, enrollment, and duration differ for business and consumer devices. Confirm each device is correctly enrolled rather than assuming all Windows 10 computers remain protected.

What We Recommend in October 2026

  1. Inventory devices: Identify every computer still running Windows 10, including remote staff laptops and secondary workstations.
  2. Check Windows 11 compatibility: Evaluate supported processors, TPM 2.0, memory, storage, and application requirements.
  3. Plan replacement or upgrade: Prioritize devices storing sensitive business information or supporting critical operations.
  4. Evaluate ESU only where needed: If migration must be delayed, verify business ESU eligibility and enroll devices correctly.
  5. Maintain layered protection: Continue endpoint monitoring, secure backups, multifactor authentication, and patching of supported applications.
